$1000 Stipends Available to Support Your Home Fire Sprinkler Outreach

The Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition (HFSC) will select 15 BUILT FOR LIFE Fire Departments (BFLFD) to each receive a $1000 stipend to conduct an educational outreach event in 2026.
The $1000 stipend can be used to:
- Build or refurbish a side-by-side demonstration.
- Produce an educational banner or canopy tent utilizing HFSC display graphics.
- Purchase a monitor to play HFSC’s educational videos.
- Purchase a virtual reality headset to play HFSC’s VR video.
- Post HFSC videos or graphics on your Fire Department Facebook page and use the stipend to boost the messages.
- Build a Home Fire Sprinkler NFPA 13D display following the HFSC guide.
Deadline: March 9, 2026.
Eligibility: Only Built For Life Fire Departments will be considered.
Event Implementation Requirements: BFLFD representatives must agree to conduct an educational outreach event in 2026; ensure the event contains home fire sprinkler educational outreach; endeavor to extend the educational benefits beyond the actual event (such as through local media or placement of photos or videos on the fire department’s website and social media outlets, if any); evaluate the educational effectiveness of the event; and report event summary and evaluation findings to HFSC Canada.
HFSC Canada members include the Canadian Automatic Sprinkler Association (CASA), the Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs (CAFC), Co-operators and regional representation for the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
